For about ten years we used a domain based license and update logic. You could choose your number of domains you wanted to get updates for and name your domains. Our server checked the domain on updates.
During the years we encountered several probems with that approach. So we finally decided to change the update system to download keys. Along with the download keys there are new license types for single and unlimited domains → learn more about our license types.
